I. Livestream Program Date
Genshin Impact 4.0 Special Program is scheduled for August 4th, 2023. Audiences can watch the Livestream Special Program on the official Twitch and YouTube channels of Genshin Impact. During the Livestream, the development team of the game will unveil upcoming content of the next update, including:
- Upcoming banners for each phase: Yelan and Lyney in the first phase; Zhongli and Childe in the second phase; Hoyoverse also shows audiences the gameplay of new characters in the Special Program;
- New nation: Fontaine and brand-new features, including the divine mechanism, artifacts, and bosses;
- New Hydro Travelers and their kits;
- Upcoming events in Update 4.0.

II. Genshin Impact 4.0 Release Date
As leaked, Genshin Impact 4.0 will be released on August 16th, 2023. Moreover, Lyney's Story Teaser may be launched on August 9th according to recent leaks. Fontaine can be released on August 16th. The concept and stories about this nation will also be unveiled.
There will be three new characters from Fontaine introduced in update 4.0, including:
- Lyney (5-star)
- Lynette (4-star)
- Freminet (4-star)
Besides, there will be three rerun banners of Chidle, Zhongli, and Yelan with many old 4-star units next update. As the earliest 5-star unit in Fontaine's update, Lyney will take the Traveler to visit many places in Fontaine and explore this nation during his story quest.
III. Genshin Impact 4.0 Maintenance Schedule
The new update will be closed for five hours, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am (UTC+8). During the maintenance time, you cannot log into the game to play. We have to wait until the maintenance duration ends to log into the game.
You can download the update package a few days before the official release of Genshin Impact 4.0 in the setting. Or else, the update will be available to download from App Store or CH Play on August 16th. Download the update package and open the game app to explore the new nation of Hydro Archon.
After logging into the game when the maintenance ends, you should check the in-game mailbox and claim 600 Primogems for compensation. After 30 days, these gift-attached letters will be expired. Don't waste these free Primogems.
